Well what a year! my gigs have gone nuts 80 this year!!! loads more and lots late ones only one saturday off to end of the year! Great gigs at Yellow Broom for Jepp and Lucy where it literally went off ! Ric and Amal and their classy R+B and soulful house music went down a treat at Stanley House.Guy and Kira’s too. Big party at shrigley Hall for loads of grad doctors big tunes requested all hit the charts over next 2 weeks – yolanda be cool, stereo love, plan B etc. Great gig in Dunham massey plenty of grunge. playing V weekend, Florence, Mumfords are all requested at the moment. Couple of jewish weddings I enjoy all the hora and chairs “Hava nagilia”etc. Worsley novotel sarah and stuart had great night with pogues smiths mozza etc.. 2011 starting to roll in now and County Bride magazine have a page on yours truly entitled “HANG THE DJ!” Great night Sept 24th with Kate and Dean lots of D+B and dance classics.. bit of reggae, indie too..just a lovely couple..Oct 2nd at the city gallery another superb gig there- thats two of my fave nights there in the last couple of years. Lucy Pope’s funky house music fest at town hall on Sept 11th was great so many old school classics and some newer stuff too-long set too about 7 hours but they kept going glow sticks and all!October saw some gigs at Belle Epoque Claire and Mals was a great night night everyone was up for it from the swing to soul motown funk indie reggae and Groove Armada superstylin hit the button once again what a great tune..Laura and Lee’s following night was alively affair too Lee’s love of classic Rock and the 90s nostaglia trip with snowy beats int etc and the uni mid to late 90s classics had all the hands in the air singing along…anyway back to the tunes: recents poptastic stuff enjoyed by all – Eliza Doolittle, Ceelo, Plan B, Paloma Faith, Duck Sauce..I love “Always Loved A Film” by Underworld big in Ibiza this summer chuggs along in a most delightful way with a lovely chorus..However the northern soul motwon funk classics seems to still get everyone shaking their stuff to get these parties going before going down the various different musical avenues.
